About the Security Service
The
role of the Security Service at
Pen Centre is to provide a safe
and enjoyable environment for
the shopping public at the largest
shopping destination in the Niagara
Region. The Pen Centre maintains
a staff of 17 uniformed Security,
2 uniformed Supervisors, and a
Security Manager. The security
department patrols the Pen Centre
24 hours a day, 365 days a year
while providing an increased presence
during the busier times of the
week and year. In the event that
you require the assistance of
the Security Service, Security
staff can be contacted through
the Customer Service desk located
in the new Bay Court. Uniformed,
licensed, and radio equipped male
and female Security staff patrol
the mall, providing security presence
and offering assistance as required.

Security
Duties:
In addition to patrolling the shopping floor,
our Security Service also patrol the mall
parking lots and outer perimeter in a marked
Security Vehicle, as well as on marked bicycles
during the summer months. These patrols
serve to deter crime, identify suspicious
behaviour and to assist shoppers in these
outer areas of the Shopping Centre. There
is also a Security dispatcher working at
all times during mall hours, who is responsible
for monitoring the advanced closed circuit
camera system which observes the interior
and exterior of the mall, as well as answering
all incoming telephone calls for Security
assistance. Calls for assistance are dispatched
to the appropriate Security personnel who
are trained to deal with any situations
that may arise. Our Security Service act
as an important link with the Niagara Regional
Police Service and other emergency services
that may be required at the Pen Centre.
First
Aid and CPR:
In order to further protect visitors to
the Pen Centre, the Centre acquired two
Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s)
and all members of the Security Service,
as well as Administration and Operations
staff are trained in the use of these life-saving
cardiac devices. All Security and Operations
personnel are also trained in first aid
and CPR.
Make
Yourself Comfortable:
More than ever, the Pen Centre is striving
to provide our shoppers with a safe and
comfortable shopping environment for your
enjoyment. The mall management asks that
